After a year of planning, there was no way we were going to let a little rain spoil Mary Sue and Shelby’s wedding – they had waited 20 years for this day and I was going to make it happen! Since they had never thought about this day before, they had never thought about what it would be like so we laughed a lot during the planning about coming up with a “theme” for their wedding and it didn’t take long to realize Palm Springs was not only an important part of their lives, but a place they wanted to share with the most important people in their lives. The O’Donnell House, which overlooks all of Palm Springs would be the perfect location and with the help of Ampersand Ink designs, we came up with a “theme” for their invitations and everything else fell into place.

Although it turned out to be the rainiest weekend California had seen in a year, Eloise (their English bulldog), was able to walk them down the aisle during the 1 hour of sunshine we had seen all day. “Now you will feel no rain” from the Apache Prayer never had more meaning than it did that day as they wrapped the Navajo blanket around them to hear those words.

Artisan Floral and Signature Party Rentals kept the décor clean and modern, Exquisite Desserts added the rainbow layers to their cake, Le Vallauris served one of the best meals I have ever experienced at a wedding, Steve Burdick Entertainment kept them on their feet all night and Jennifer Gilmore Studios caught it all on camera. And of course, thank you to Classic Party Rentals for the tent that kept everyone dry all night!
