Having grown up on Balboa Island, Mallory knew she wanted to incorporate the nautical theme into her Orange County wedding, but did not want it to be all seashells and starfish. From the very first meeting knew Mallory and Austin were a preppy couple (the striped button downs were the giveaway) but I also figured out Mallory was a girl that liked things that glimmered. Knowing they met through church, I asked if there was a particular verse that was special to them and that is where our anchor theme took shape – Hebrews 6:19 – This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil.
Sometimes obvious and sometimes subtle, we used anchor throughout the entire wedding. It was first introduced on the save the dates and carried over onto the invites and all the paper goods, the cake, the memory chair for Mallory’s late father, the floral on the aisle – the bride and groom even had anchor socks and jewelry.
The night ended with a fun sparkler exit for the couple as they started their life together as newlyweds!
