Meredith and Dave were looking to celebrate with family and friends in Hawaii, where Meredith grew up. The couple had been to a few destination weddings and really liked the idea of the wedding not just being a one day affair, but a few days of celebrating. Being able to share the beauty of Hawaii within the context of their wedding was something very important to them. They put their trust in their team of vendors as they planned remotely from California, relying on their expertise to bring their vision for a Maui destination wedding to reality.
Their wedding weekend included activites for their 170 guests (an incredible turn-out for a destination wedding!), such as a ferry ride to Hulopoe Bay, a welcome cocktail party (in lieu of a traditional rehearsal dinner), and plenty of relaxing beach time.
In an intimate and personal ceremony, Meredith’s brother-in-law officiated, surrounded by the beauty of the Pacific Ocean and natural surroundings. Their reception was complete with a picture perfect sunset over the island of Lanai and whales breaching right off the coast. Café O’Lei created an amazing menu with live action stations to make sure guests had fresh, hot food. The night finished off with an epic dance party and surprise flash mob.
Lastly, since their wedding happened to be the day before the Super Bowl, they hosted a Super Bowl party instead of the traditional day-after brunch to complete their wedding weekend. The bride’s parents hosted, complete with a whole roasted pig and a shave ice stand.
