Lindsay and John were never fans of big formal weddings and the most important part of their wedding was to make sure it reflected each of them. Lindsay grew up with her grandparents living in Bermuda and when she took John to Bermuda for the first time he feel in love with it too so they decided to have a bermuda themed wedding, bermuda suits and all! With the help of event designer Lindye Galloway, the bermuda theme came to life with so many clever and unique details. We loved the not-so-conventional guest book that consisted of oars hanging on a wall waiting for each guest to sign. These oars, full of guests’ love notes and signatures would later become wall decoration in the couple’s home. The ceremony’s focus was on the alter which was created to mimic a “moon gate,” a sign for good luck in Bermuda. Lindsay and John also opted for a less traditional reception with lounge furniture provided by Found Rentals we created a cocktail style creating a more social environment.
One of my favorite details was the homemade waffles and ice cream vs. a wedding cake. Lindsay’s grandma had passed away just before the wedding and used to serve them homemade waffles with ice cream and chocolate sauce for dinner when we would visit. It was John’s idea of honoring Lindsay’s grandma in a way that she would love.
